During the Last War, the mercenary bands of Valenar elves banded under the warrior Shaeras Vadallia and declared southeastern Cyre as their independent domain, crowning him their high king. Since Valenar culture rarely celebrates administration or bureaucracy, Vadallia relies on a cadre of underlings to run the loose governance of the country, and spends most of his time taking on great battles and conflicts to set an example for his people. Subsequently, he only rarely resides in Taer Valaestas, preferring the comfort of his luxury war tents on the open plains.

Vadallia’s most consistent alliance is with House Lyrandar; their political connections helped him take a seat at the negotiations that lead to the Treaty of Thronehold.
