Planes of Eberron

Eberron sits within a universe of thirteen separate planes. These realms are grouped together in six different regions separate from the Material Plane.

The planes orbit Eberron, acting like the 12 moons (some are tied closely to the moons of Eberron, and their cycles reflect this). When they approach the Material Plane, they are waxing. At some points, the two planes become co-terminous, spilling the plane’s effects into the real world. The plane then pulls back, called the waning phase, until is remote, where effects connected to the plane rarely manifest on the Material Plane.

For example, when Risia is waxing, cold weather becomes more pronounced or common. When it is coterminous, ice storms and blizzards are much more likely, while cold magic is at its most potent. When it wanes, it becomes more difficult to manifest magical cold, and snow storms are shorter. When remote, ice is almost impossible to create through arcane means, and snow rarely lasts longer than an hour.
